5 Tips to getting your wedding organized

Photos by: Jessica Rieke Photography

Congratulations on the engagement! Here are a few tips to get you organized on the right path to planning.

1. Create a separate email.

We all know with all the emails coming through, RSVPs, and vendor recommendations. You want to make it easy so that you and your fiancé can easily access them. This helps with having both partners involved during the planning process.

2. Create a shared drive of content.

Keeping all the contracts, recommendations and checklist in one area helps you keep the information organized and easy for your maiden of honor or best man to be able to assist if needed. Google Drive, Dropbox,  and iCloud are all great places to save information.

3. Spend time jotting down ideas and themes.

Everyone loves Pinterest! Before you head there to write down, ask yourself what ideas you have in mind for colors? What time of the year you would like to have the wedding? What is most important to you and your spouse?

4. Create a Budget.

This one is important to do and to talk about so nothing gets out of hand! Create an excel or numbers spreadsheet. You may not know how much everything will cost so it is good to put 2 columns one for Budget and Actual.  Start with the top 3 things that you would like at your wedding and work from there. It could be a Videographer, DJ, Photobooth, or a Performer…whatever it is list it. The more details the better and be realistic.

5. Relax.

Ok so now that you’ve written out all your ideas, created a budget organized all your files. Pop open a bottle of champagne and wine and celebrate because you are on your way to planning your incredible dream wedding.
