Vendor Feature: LA Speakeasy

How many people think it is easier to purchase your own cocktails for your wedding? Would you and your team or bridal party like to run to the store when you run out of ice or have to figure out how much alcohol you will need for a 300 person event? These are things that you would want to avoid doing during your event so this article is for you!

La Speakeasy is a bartending and mixology company co-founded by Iveth and Vincent Navarro.

They specialize in creating craft cocktail experiences through our mobile bartending service and mixology workshops. There are many events that ask for custom cocktails and after speaking with LA Speakeasy, they had some tips for what to look for when choosing a mixologist.

Tip 1

A good rule of thumb is 1 drink per person per hour. Yes, some people will drink more, and some probably not at all. Per experience, about 99% of the time there are leftovers.

Tip 2

Since we specialize in craft cocktails we based the consumption as 70% cocktails, 15% beer, 15% wine. (Like I said 99% of the time there are leftovers of everything)

If you are serving beer and wine only. We recommend 60% beer and 40% wine.

Tip 3

Every event is different so there might be more variables to account, but this is a great place to start. We have an online calculator you can use to get a ballpark cost and quantities for your event. http://www.laspeakeasy.com/alcohol

 Tip 4

** PRO TIP: Beware of alcohol calculators from Total Wine. Their calculators are based on more wine consumption, for example, 50% wine, 30% beer, and 20% cocktails. If you are using other calculators, simply check to see how they divide the three categories.
